This hands-on workshop focuses on the prevention of pressure injuries as a core rehabilitation role. Participants build confidence in wound assessment and staging, pressure mapping, treatment planning, intervention and prevention strategies, and the prescription of effective pressure management equipment.
Introducing an innovative model of pressure management practice presented by an experienced OT/PT/RN wound team: Learn to prevent pressure injuries, to accurately determine causation, to make effective treatment decisions based on your full understanding of the person and the wound.
Day One focus is on wound prevention strategies; how to evaluate level of risk; to assess the wound and determine causation; to provide effective treatment and make accurate, cost-effective equipment prescription.
Day Two is all about pressure, posture and pressure mapping. Hands on experience pressure mapping clients for assessment and equipment prescription will help you gain confidence in using this tool in your practice.
